Welcome to The Moat House Surgery

The Moat House is currently a six partner practice, working from purpose built premises and offering high quality family medicine. We have five GP Partners and a Managing Partner. We are committed to continuing the best possible patient care and embracing the challenges and continuing changes of the various NHS plans and our GP contract. Our staff are friendly, professional, supportive and highly valued as part of the team delivering that care.

Founded in 1894, the Moat House Practice has been caring for the people of Merstham for over a century. Our premises have been modernised, enabling us to expand the range of health care services that we offer. Our aim is to provide high quality medical care to the whole family.

Help to stop smoking:

The East Surrey Stop Smoking Service number is 0845 222 0239. or contact our Nursing Team for help and advice.

Patient Group:

We are delighted to announce that we now have a Patient Group which meets regularly four times a year.  The Group comprises patients from our patient list who are able to give us feedback about the services we provide and ensure that we understand any problems there may be.  They are also able to help shape new services we may be considering.  It is very valuable for us to have this feedback and we are very grateful to patients for giving up their time to help us.

At the moment membership of the Group is full, but if you would like to be considered for membership in the future, please let the Managing Partner, Mrs S O'Flynn,  know.

Results of Patient Survey 2008/09

The practice scored 69% against a national mean of 61%.

In 27 areas measured, we were above the national mean in 24 and below in 3.

The areas where we need to make further improvements are: telephone access, waiting time to see a practitioner and the helpfulness of reception staff.

Measured against last year’s survey, we have improved in 25 areas, stayed the same in 1 and got marginally worse in 1.

We have an action plan in place to address the three areas of greatest concern and will be discussing how to tackle these with our Patient Group shortly.

Thank you to everyone who took time to fill in a survey.  We really do value your feedback.

Accessibility: Accessibility to the surgery has been improved for people in wheelchairs with the installation of an automatic door.
